Newfeel, the walking brand of the Oxylane group (France), wanted to evaluate the potential of an interactive pedometer for 6 to 12 years old kids. The idea was to bring in storytelling to pedometers and motivate kids to walk through the next episode of a story.
We studied the existing market in pedometers, successful kids franchises and the walking habits of 10 children. We interviewed and observe the children and their relatives on their lifestyle, routines and likes. We then provide them with pedometers and personal diaries to go through a looong week of thorough study.
The kids were enthusiastic about the idea and were great contributors, had fun in the process and gave us lots of valuable insights. At the end of week, we thanked their efforts with coupons to spend in their favorite bookstore!
