Living in the streets forces homeless people to move fast with their belongings from places where they are not wanted. We wanted to be able to propose valid solutions to bring relief to them, yet not propose permanent ones that would let them linger on the fringe of society.
Focusing on the safety of the user, we focused on a solution that would be stealthy in color, easy to pack away and bring around, inspiring from recent tent technologies.
The concept is a wheeled bag that can be flipped and unfold to be used as a tent. We chose weather resistant fabrics to provide as much protection as possible for the inside of the tent/bag, and designed a structure with as little moving parts as possible. We focused on using sturdy parts of standards dimensions (like roller wheels) that the users could easily replace or mend with materials found in the streets.
Luid is a design collaboration platform with a hands-on approach, carried by a team of nice creative consultants scattered mostly over Europe and Asia.
We do design research, experience design and service design!
